The Modern Defintion of Evolution Empty The Modern Defintion of Evolution

As I said in the section entitled "Origin and Definitions" the ideology of Evolution began with Charles Darwin but what is the modern definition of Evolution?

The Definition of Evolution

The process by which different kinds of living organisms developed and diversified from earlier lower life forms during the history of the earth. Example: Primates Became Human-Beings) This is the base and very vague definition. This is the most commonly used definition but in the Scientific world, there are five models of Evolutionary thought.

The Five Models of Evolution

1. Cosmic Evolution – The Cosmology or how the Universe came into being.
2. Stellar Evolution – How the stars and galaxies formed
3. Earth’s Evolution – How the Sun and the planets formed in our solar sytem from non-life, mutation, natural selection, and enormous amounts of time. This is the holy grail of Evolutionary thinking and will be discussed in more detail later.
5. Microevolution – The limited variation that takes place in a species or families gene pool or genome. ( This is really not Evolution but it is part of the manual of Evolutionary Theory) It is also the only naturally occurring action in existence. More about this later.
